Bio
Tiff Rysdale is an emerging Australian artist. Tiff is from Scotland, UK, living and working on Kaurna land, Adelaide, South Australia. Tiff graduated with Honours from Adelaide Central School of Art (2015) and completed a BA in Visual Arts at Adelaide College of the Arts (2010) Her work won Peoples Choice in the Emma Hack Art Prize (2014) was a finalist in The Fleurieu Biennale (2018) was a finalist in the Adelaide Parklands Prize (2023) and RSASA Portrait Prize (2024).
Her studio practice often incorporates a range of disciplines, working with both 2D and 3D elements, in drawing to textiles, photography to painting and installations. Her paintings boldly use self created characters as the main figurative element, as an extension of her identity. The characters operating a bit like an avatar; they playfully explore and engage in the world around them.
Tiff's art practice ranges from the more intimate-smaller scale studio work to the form of large scale public murals. You can find her solo and collaborative street art work currently at Melbourne’s International Airport (departure lounge), at Adelaide Central Markets (Grote St entrance), Hotel Minima's Art Rooms in North Adelaide and at Wonderwalls Street Art Festival in Port Adelaide.
